‘S mise Magaidh a native islander, Gaelic speaker and Green Badge Guide. Traditions and island social history are at the heart of everything I do: research, writing, performance and tour guiding.
I was brought up in a crofting family in the 60s and still live and keep animals on that land. I am fairly well rooted where six generations of my family raised families and livestock, passing cultural knowledge through oral tradition and practice to the next generation.
I have been guiding for 20 years, have a passion for archaeology and love to lead the singing.
Make your way to Stornoway
On the road to Orinsay
Where my thoughts return each day
To lovely Stornoway
Where the folks are truly kind
Where you leave the world behind
Where each cloud is silver lined
In lovely Stonoway
And no matter where you are
Hitch your wagon to a star
Heaven can’t be very far
From lovely Stornoway
