I have lived on Lewis since 2011, and have been a regular visitor to the island since 1965. During that time I have gained a detailed knowledge of the area. My wife was born and brought up in Stornoway, and we returned home because of the attractions of living here.
I have an honours degree in Geography, and worked as a cartographer and teacher. I am the author of severals books on aspects of the social history of Lewis.
I thus have the knowledge and skills to bring the islands alive to visitors. I am passionate about the islands’ landscapes, history and culture. I take great pleasure in introducing visitors to our special islands, and to helping them both enjoy and gain more from their stays here.
I am happy to guide large and small groups anywhere throughout the islands, and also to take walking groups, both round the town of Stornoway and elsewhere.
