Hello, I’m Neil and have lived in the Isle of Lewis since 2020. Originally from East Anglia, the lure of an Island life on the wild Atlantic west side in the Western Isles became a reality when I retired early from my Training Consultancy. A DNA test later showed that I have 26% Norwegian DNA and 23% Celtic DNA. Maybe why my wife and I were drawn to the edge of the World to “Innse Gall – the Islands of the Foreigners”? In 2023 I discovered that I have relatives in Lewis from the next village, after a 2nd Cousin got in touch.
Currently I’m a mature student working towards a BA Hons in Scottish History & Archaeology at the University of the Highlands & Islands; two subjects that I am passionate about.
I serve in the Hebrides Mountain Rescue Team, Kayak and swim in our coastal waters and can promise an interesting and fun tour if we meet.
