I began guiding for Lewis and Harris tours from cruise liners calling into Stornoway in 2003, initially for German passengers, because I am Swiss as well as Scots, and therefore bilingual German/English, with a little French, Italian and Dutch thrown in 😊
I had good training, and try to keep up to date with local information of interest to visitors, as I enjoy introducing people to the islands.
