Are refreshments provided on full-day tours? No, your guide will make their own arrangements for refreshments.
What happens if the guide I booked is taken ill and can’t work? If your guide is taken ill, we will do everything possible to arrange a replacement.
Are your tours suitable for children? If you have children in your party please let us know in advance, including the number of children and their age, so that we can assist in suggesting a suitable itinerary. Please note that parents will be responsible for their children and their children’s safety at all times.
What kind of clothing do you recommend guests wear when taking one of your tours? As all our tours involve some walking on rough ground, we recommend guests wear warm, comfortable clothing and walking shoes or sturdy trainers. The weather in the Outer Hebrides is mixed and can change quickly, and so it’s a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket and trousers. Dressing in “layers” is always recommended. If you choose a hike please bring appropriate hiking shoes.
How long do your tours last? The length of the tour can be adapted to your requests. A half-day tour is up to 5 hours. A full day tour is up to 8 hours
Where do your tours start and finish? The start and finish points for your tour can be arranged to meet your needs and the guide can usually meet you at your accommodation (if you arranged for transport). If your chosen start and finish point is in a rural location which requires the guide to use public transport or a taxi to get there, we will need to add these costs to the invoice.
How will I recognise my guide? The meeting point will be clearly stated and the guide will identify themself to you. In a crowded place (e.g. ferry terminal) the guide might have a sheet of paper with your name.
