Western Isles Tour Guide Association have been planning new tours as part of the group’s Sustainable Tourism Policy.
The Harris Tweed Tours will include a visit to Harris Tweed weaver’s like Iain Màrtainn, self employed and continuing the family tradition of combining weaving Harris Tweed and running a working croft. There are several Harris Tweed weavers who welcome visitors to their loom shed to share the wool weaving process.
There is also an opportunity for Harris Tweed 1 .5 hour workshop with a local crafts person making an item from Harris Tweed. More information on Harris Tweed tours from the Western Isles Tour Guide Association.
