Richard grew up on the Isle of Lewis, studied astrophysics at Glasgow University and then worked as a lecturer in physics/engineering. In 2022, he returned to Lewis with his young family and now tends the family croft, runs a holiday let, and spends as much time as possible sailing, hiking, camping and kayaking – and sharing his knowledge of and enthusiasm for these beautiful islands.
